Reportingservicesservice.exe is a process which is associated with Microsoft SQL Server and is installed on the target system for reporting errors when they happen with the program. - Details
Reportingservicesservice.exe runs in the background and can be stopped if you should have the need to not report any errors into Microsoft that may accure. Such as Microsoft SQL Server 2005, you may want to shut this service off as it is just waisting resources and Microsoft does not really deal with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 with the new SQL Server 2008 and 2008 R2. - Recreate Issue
The ReportingServicesService.exe is on by default to handle all errors that Microsoft SQL Server encounters. - Resolve Issue
To resolve this issue.
To disable this process, you do not have to uninstall Microsoft SQL Server 2005 like is reported here at: processlibrary.com«
Follow these simple steps to disable this service.
(You must have administrative rights on the computer in order to work with the Services panel)
Click on [Start]
Click [Administrator Tools]
Click [Services]
(If Administrative tools is not in your Start menu, then do the following)
Click on [My Computer]
Click [Control Panel]
Click [Administrator Tools]
Click [Services]
Once you have [Services] open, scroll down to [SQL Server Reporting Services]
Double click to open its [Properties].
From the [Startup Type] choose [Disable]
Then click on [Stop] under the [Service status:]
Then click on [Apply] then [OK]
The ReportingServicesService.exe is now stopped and will not run again until you either start the service manually (or) reinstall the system.
