When you first install IIS6 under Windows 2003 server, you may be in for a rude awakening when your ASP Classic pages give you a 404 error page instead of your actual asp pages. - Details
To view ASP Classic pages in IIS6 under Windows 2003 Server, you will have to enable the Web Service Extension for Active Server Pages (ASP). - Recreate Issue
Active Server Pages Extension is [Disabled] by defuault in IIS6 under Windows 2003 Server. - Resolve Issue
To resolve this issue:
Click on [Start]
Click [Administrator Tools]
Click [Manage Your Server]
Scroll down to: [Application Server]
Click on [Manage this application server]
When the dialog opens.
Click on [Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager]
Click on [Web Service Extensions]
Right click and choose [Enable] for [Active Server Pages]
Refresh your page, and you should now be able to view your ASP Classic pages.
