Joining a domain with Windows 7 on a Windows 2003 Server DC with cause a network path not found during attempt to join. - Details
When joining a Windows 7 system to a Windows 2003 Domain DC, you will have to make sure that your network adapter has the Windows 2003 DC's IP Address listed as the first entry in the DNS settings. If not, you will receive the following error.

To recreate this issue:
Windows 7 tries to join a Windows 2003 Server DC without having the DC's IP Address in it Network Settings as 1st DNS Address. - Resolve Issue
To correct this issue:
To fix this issue with Windows 7 joining a Domain, you must add the IP Address to the local area connections
Click on [Start]
Right click on [Network]
Choose [Properties]
Click on [Local Area Connection]
Click on [Properties]
In the [Local Area Connection Properties] dialog
Click on [Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)]
(or)[Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)]
Click on [Properties]
In the [Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)] Properties dialog
Click on [Advanced]
Click on [DNS] tab
In the [DNS Server addresses, in order of use:]
Click on [Add]
Type in the IP Address of your Domain Controller:
Example: 192.168.2.7
Click on [Add]
Then click on the DC IP Address, and click on the Up Arrow to put the DC IP at the top of the list.
Click [OK], then [OK] then [Close]
Now, click [Start]
Right click on [Computer]
Click [Properties].
When the [System] Window opens
Under [Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings]
Click on [Change Settings]
When the [System Properties] dialog opens
Click on [Change]
Type your domain name in the [Domain] field.
Example: my-domain
Click [OK]
Type in your Domain [Username] and [Password]
Click [OK]
If everything is correct, you should receive:
Welcome to the my-domain domain
Click [OK]
You will then be asked to restart your computer.
Click [OK]
Close out of all open Dialogs and Windows
Restart the Windows 7 computer.
Once the system restarts, you will see the
[CTRL ALT DEL]
Press this on your keyboard. (You will have to do CTRL ALT DEL each time that you logon to the system from here on out.
Now, type in your Password and click [login]
If you password is correct, you should have a successful login.
This will of course take a few minutes, so please be patient.
Once this initial login happens and sets all permissions and settings, your next login will be fast and smooth.
Depending on the groups your user is a member of on the domain, will depend on what areas of your Windows 7 system you will be able to navigate to, compared to prior from joining the domain.
