Change the default User folder location in windows 7 for all folders within the user profile folder.
  • Details
    C:\Users\username
This is the location where your user profile folders are located at by default.
As we all know, anything can happen at any time that can cause us to loose our data that is stored in this default location.
Having more than a single partition or more than a single drive in your computer or attached to it is a wise choice.

When you have more location (Drive partitions or extra drives) you are able to relocate your precious folders and data to these area's without the worry of the system crashing and loosing your data.
Now, when storing your information on the same drive by on another partition, you still stand a chance of loosing your data if you have a hard drive malfunction or drive crash.
So it is best to go out and purchase an external drive and a USB enclosure specifically for your data backup and storage.

I strongly recommend that you purchase a:
#1: Hard drive of 500Gb or larger
    #2: USB Hard Drive Enclosure

If you purchase an already enclosed USB Drive, then you are going to pay double or triple the worth of the hardware which is not worth it, as the hardware enclosures are cheap and hard drives are even cheaper in certain markets.
  • Recreate Issue
    C:\Users\username
This is the location where all your user profile folders are located at.
  • Resolve Issue
In windows 7, Microsoft has made it a lot eaiser for you to relocate your folders, as they know how precious your data is to you and your business or family.
So with that stated, let me begin.

    Locate your User Folder
C:\Users\username (Change the username for your actual username)

Once you open this folder you will be faced with the following Sub-Folders

AppData (This is application program data, stores important information for your profile programs)
Contacts (This has your contacts information)
Desktop (This is your Desktop items)
Downloads (This is your downloaded files folder)
Favorites (This is your Favorites, stores links from Internet Address's)
    Links (These are links
My Documents (This stores all your documents
My Music (This is your Music Folder)
My Pictures (This is your Pictures Folder)
My Videos (This is your Video Folder)
Saved Games (This is your Saved Game Data (This is Windows 7 Games only))
Searches (These are your most recent search)

Lets start off with My Music
    Right click on [My Music]
    Choose [Properties]
    Click on the [Location] tab

    You will see
    C:\Users\username\My Music
In my case, I am going to link this to my network music folder.
So I am first going to open my network share, and browse to the Music folder.

In Windows 7, the location in the address bar to my Music Folder by Default is:
    << Network-Computer > My Music >
    Translated is:
    \\Network-Computer\My Music

    Now. Click [Apply]
You will be asked if you want to move all of the files from the old location to the new location?

    Move Folder

Do you want to move all of the files from the old location to the new location?

    Old location: C:\Users\username\Music
    New location: \\CARRZ-DEVELOPER\My Music

We recommend moving all of the files so that programs needing to access the folder’s content can do so.

    [Yes] [No] [Cancel]

In my case, I am going to choose [No] as I do not want to move anything over.
In your case, if you have music stores in your old folder location, then you will want to choose [Yes] and move everything over.
Depending on the amount of data that you have in the Folder, will depend on the time that it will take to relocate the data.

Once this is compete, you can physically delete the old My Music folder from your profile folder, as it is no longer needed, or you can leave it, either way, will not hurt.

Now, click on the [Start] button and then click on [Muisc] and this will load your new folder location with all your music in it.

Perform the same actions to all the folders that you want to move.
I strongly suggest that you do it to all that you feel are precious data to you.

UPDATE: Add folders, to your [Send To][Menu Option].
First locate your Send To folder.
    C:\Users\(YOUR USERNAME)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo
Now, choose the folder you want to add, in this Example, we are going to use the FONTS folder.
    C:\WINDOWS\FONTS
[Right Click] on the [Fonts] Folder,
[Drag and Drop] into your [SendTo] folder.
    Choose to [Create Shortcut]

Now, when you want to install fonts, you can do it easily without having to go to the Fonts folder.
