Using the rearm method to extend the trial version of Microsoft Windows Desktop and Windows Servers only gives 10 days instead of 180 days. - Recreate Issue
After running [slmgr.vbs -rearm]
Then a Reboot shows that you only have 10 days left and not the 180 days expected. - Resolve Issue
There could be multiple reasons you only get 10 days instead of the 180 days extension when running the -rearm. Here we will list them all as they become available.
[Scenario #1]:
#1: Make sure you have an internet connection.
If performing the -rearm on a Microsoft Windows machine, make sure you have a connection to the Internet. For example, open google.com and see if the page loads on the machine. If it does, then there must be another issue besides the Internet.
#2: Is the machine part of a Domain with a DC (Domain Controller)?
Running the -rearm on a machine behind a DC, which the machine has listed in its IP Config DNS Server settings.
This DC must be online, so make sure the DC can connect to the Internet.
Then ping the DC from the machine you are running the -rearm on to ensure it is seen.
