    When adding disks to a Microsoft Failover Cluster you receive the following error. No disks suitable for cluster disks were found.

    When trying to add a disk to a Microsoft Failover Cluster, you may experience the following error, if the disk were previously assigned to another Failover Cluster.

     
    No disks suitable for cluster disks were found. For diagnostic information about disks available to the cluster, use the validate a configuration Wizard to run Storage tests.
  • Recreate Issue
    Recreate Issue

    When the Virtual Disk is assigned to another Failover Cluster, you will not be able to access these drives until they are freed from the other cluster. Rather the cluster exist or does not exist, you will get the error.
  • Resolve Issue
    Resolve this Issue.

    On the server, you are administering the Failover Cluster Manager.

    Open Disk Management
    Start PowerShell under Administrator
    Run Clear-ClusterDiskReservation -Disk #
    (Change the Disk #, to the actual number of the Virtual Disk. This can be found inside of Disk Management.
    Do this for each Virtual drive, until complete.

    clear-ClusterDiskReservation
    Are you sure you want to clear the disk reservation on node ServerName?
    [Y] Yes [N] No [S] Suspend [?] Help (default is "Y"):
    Choose [Y] and press [Enter]

    In Failover Cluster Manager click on the [Add Disk] and select all Disks to add to the cluster.
