Domain joined computer loses connection to domain and network adapter shows Unidentified Network.
  • Details
Domain joined computer loses connection to the domain, and the network adapter shows Unidentified Network.
    Things tried without luck.
    Rebooting the computer.
    Disable and reenable network adapter.
Removing Static IP and adding it back in.

None of the above worked for this issue.
  • Recreate Issue
Not sure how to recreate this issue.
The problem presented itself after a shutdown of the network to install new batteries to our battery backup unit. Once these systems come back online, this machine showed an Unidentified Network when hovering over the network adapter properties on the taskbar.
  • Resolve Issue
To resolve this issue, please perform the following.

    Scenario #1:
Right-click the network adapter on the taskbar beside the clock.
    Open [Network and Internet settings].
Choose [Change adapter options] under [Change your network settings]
    Right-click the network adapter.
    Click [Properties]
Doubleclick [Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)]
    Click [Advanced...]
    Click [DNS] tab
Supply your domain name (FQDM) in the field beside
[DNS suffix for this connection:] example: yourdomain.local
Click [OK] on all three windows.

The changes should be immediate, so no rebooting required under Windows 10.
