Cannot copy file cannot read from the source file or disk when you try to copy or move a folder. - Details
When trying to copy or move a folder to another location on your hard drive, you may encounter the following error.
cannot copy file cannot read from the source file or disk
Or
Cannot create or replace (Folder Name): Access is denied.
make sure that the disk is not full or write-protected
and that the file in not currently in use. - Recreate Issue
To recreate this issue.
Scenario #1:
When deleting a folder from the network, sometimes not all content will be deleted, as in, there are date that may still reside within the folder, of which, can only be read by the computer, and is not accessible to the user. - Resolve Issue
To resolve this issue.
Scenario #1:
These folders are hard to remove on your own, using the Del command from a DOS PROMPT will not remove the folder. However, there are some ways of doing it, through a reboot, and dos prompt, however, if done in correctly, you could delete the wrong thing.
