    Trying to Join a Domain may result in Access is Denied error if one of the following issues exist within the Active Directory Users and Computers for the Domain User.

    When trying to Re-Join the Domain, after modifying or deleting the Domain User from Active Directory Users and Domains, without completely removing the Users credential, can results in the following Error:

     

    Your computer could not be joined to the domain
    access is denied
  • Recreate Issue
    To recreate this issue:

    There are several issues that can result in this issue.
    We will be addressing 1 of these issue.

    Scenario #1:
    The Domain Users account has been [deleted] or [modified] in some way, that makes it unreachable through the Computer that is listed for that User in the domain's Active Directory.
  • Resolve Issue
    To resolve this issue:

    There are several issues that can result in this issue.
    We will be addressing 1 of these issue.

    Scenario #1:
    Open [Active Directory Users and Computers]
    Expand the Domain
    Click to open [Computer]
    Select the computer for the user
    [Delete] the computer from the list.

    When the user attempts to [Join the Domain] again
    The [Domain Users Computer] will be added to the list.
