  • Resolve Issue
    To resolve this issue.
There are several issues that can cause this problem.
We will list the solutions to the ones that we find applicable to this issue.

    Scenario #1:
If you run across this issue, closing out of Outlook Express, and all opened problem's, and then rebooting your computer, will resolve this issue.

    Scenario #2:
If there is a domain name in with the error,
    Example:
ACCOUNT MAIL BRAEMARNET.COM SERVER MAIL BRAEMARNET.COM.
Waiting for a short period of time, may resolve this issue, as the domain may have a problem on their mail server, that is causing a problem on your receiving of mail.
Trying Scenario #1, may also help in this issue as well.

    Scenario #3:
If neither of the 2 above Scenario's do not correct your issue.
Recreating your computer profile for your Login user, may correct this issue.
To recreate a user in Windows XP

    Go to [My Computer]
    Then [Administrator Tools]
    Then choose [User Accounts]
From there, you will be able to create a new account for your user.

Once you have created the new account, reboot the computer, and login with the new user, and you will be able to move your old account information over to the new account.
    WARNING!!!
DO NOT MOVE EVERYTHING OVER, THIS WILL KILL THE NEW ACCOUNT.

    Only move over
    [My Desktop]
    [Favorites]
    [My Documents]

If you are a part of a Domain, then you will not be able to use the User Accounts within the Administrator Tools.

    For Domain Users.

    Right click on [My Computer]
    Click on [Properties]
    Then choose [Computer Name] Tab
    Click on [Change]
    Put a check on [Workgroup]
    Give your Workgroup a name
    Click [Apply] then [OK]
    reboot the computer

Once you are logged in to the workgroup,
(This is usually the default administrator account
that was setup during the installation of the computer)

Once you are in the workgroup account.
    Go to [My Computer]
Then go to C:\Documents and Settings
Rename your old domain user from: username =to= ~username
Now, close out of My Computer

    Right click on [My Computer]
    Go to [Properties]
Then click on [Computer Name] Tab
    Click on [Network ID]
And follow the prompts to rejoin the domain once more with the same username
    As you previously had.

Once you have completed this, reboot the computer,
and logon with the domain user account, and go to: C:\Documents and Settings
And into your old domain user account, and you can then start to slowly move over
Items that will not effect your user.
    [My Documents]
    [Desktop]
    [Favorites]

If you would like to get the old emails, you can do that by performing the following task.
    Go to [My Computer]
    C:\Documents and Settings\<OLD USER ACCOUNT>\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{Really long number}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

The above location is going to differ with the long number, for your new account.
First thing you will want to do it open Outlook Express before moving anything.
This will create the initial folder for you, if you do not open Outlook Express first, then the folder will not be created first.

Move over only folder .dbx files, after you create their identical folder names within Outlook Express, if not, then it will not recognize the folders that you have created.
