The specified request cannot be executed from current Application Pool will happen if the link to the image exist but not all folder attributes are available in the url.
Details
If you provide a link to an image that exist, but the url to the image does not contain all attributes (Folder and Sub-Folder names), you will receive an error like the following.

The specified request cannot be executed from current Application Pool
Recreate Issue
To recreate the Issue:

Provide a link to an image that exist, but the link is missing a directory folder.
Example of a bad link

http://www.picdrive.net/mempics/carrzkiss/carrzkiss_upDate-03-40-55-May-25-2010-FName-hot.jpg
Resolve Issue
To Resolve this issue:

Provide all needed sub-folders for the link.
Example

http://www.picdrive.net/mempics/Profile/carrzkiss/carrzkiss_upDate-03-40-55-May-25-2010-FName-hot.jpg

In the above link, you will see that it differs from the Recreate link as it contains the sub-folder: /Profile/
Since this was missing from the Recreate link, it is not a valid link, there for the error accured.
