KB Issue
When starting a server in the Network Load Balancing Cluster, you may receive the following error if the server has gone stale: "Cluster IP address not added to TCP/IP properties."
Issue Details
A stale server in the Network Load Balancing Cluster will not start due to the following error: "Cluster IP address not added to TCP/IP properties."
Recreate Issue
You will receive this error if a server has been offline for an extended period.
The easiest way around this error is described below.
Resolve Issue
Step #1:
Remove the server from the NLB cluster.
  1. Right-click on the server you are having issues with.
  2. Select [Delete Host]
  3. Choose [Yes] from the dialog.
Step #2:
Add the server back to the NLB cluster team.
  1. Right-click on the Domain name
  2. choose [Add Host To Cluster]
  3. Type the Server name into the Host: Example: ArrCore
  4. Then click [Connect]
  5. Choose an IP address from the list.
  6. Click [Next>]
  7. Next page, [Host Parameters]. You can leave this default.
  8. Click [Next>]
  9. Next page, [Port Rules] Edit what may need to be changed.
  10. The Port Rules are required for this error; once this is completed, you will no longer receive it.
  11. Click [Finish]
