Issue DetailsDomain joined computer loses connection to the domain, and the network adapter shows Unidentified Network.
Things tried without luck.
- Rebooting the computer.
- Disable and re-enable the network adapter.
- Removing the static IP and adding it back in.
Recreate IssueNot sure how to reproduce this issue.
The problem occurred after a network shutdown to install new batteries for our battery backup unit. Once these systems came back online, this machine showed an Unidentified Network when hovering over the network adapter properties on the taskbar.
Resolve Issue- Right-click the network adapter on the taskbar beside the clock.
- Open [Network and Internet settings].
- Choose [Change adapter options] under [Change your network settings]
- Right-click the network adapter.
- Click [Properties]
- Doubleclick [Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)]
- Click [Advanced...]
- Click [DNS] tab
- Supply your domain name (FQDM) in the field beside
- [DNS suffix for this connection:] example: yourdomain.local
- Click [OK] on all three windows.
The changes should be immediate, so no rebooting required under Windows 10.
