KB Issue

Norton Antivirus 2012 or Norton Antivirus 2013 does not show beside the clock in the taskbar.

Issue Details

When you install Norton Antivirus 2012 or Norton Antivirus 2013 for the first time, you may notice that its icon is not in the taskbar beside the clock.

When you view the Event Viewer, you will notice that NAV (Norton Antivirus) has, in fact, started successfully, but just has not shown its icon beside the clock.

There seems to be an issue with the Group Policy, and a Microsoft Download and Install, should correct this issue.

Recreate Issue

This has only been tested with Windows XP.
There is a problem with the Group Policy, that needs to be addressed.

Resolve Issue

Scenario #1:
This may work on some and may not work with other systems. This is for Windows XP, has not been tested on other systems.

Once this component is installed, reboot your computer, and Norton Antivirus should now be in your taskbar beside your clock.
