High CPU but process not showing in Task Manager, making computer really slow

Issue Details

When you are part of a Domain, and you have mapped network shares, you may experience a slow-running computer as well as HIGH CPU usage, but not showing the process that is eating up the CPU. This may be caused by 1 or more different issues.

Here, we will list all issues that can cause this within the DOMAIN. If you are not part of a DOMAIN (or a workgroup with Shares), then the information may not help you.

Recreate Issue

The router may be congested and needs to be rebooted.

Resolve Issue

If the router is congested, you may need to reboot it. This will clear the router and your system, allowing it to reconfigure itself on the network, thus getting rid of the slow computer and the HIGH CPU Usage.
