While connected to the local network's wi-fi, the internet may drop, causing videos to buffer or pages to load slowly. - Details
Wi-Fi connection can stop working while connected to a local network. This issue is rare but does happen when DHCP is used instead of assigning a Static IP address to the Wi-Fi connection. - Recreate Issue
Sign in to the Wi-Fi network with the network's credentials, and let it obtain an IP Address and all settings automatically. - Resolve Issue
Open [Settings]
Then [Network & Internet]
Choose [Internet]
Click the Wi-Fi network you want to connect to.
Click on the [Gear] icon.
Click the [Pencil] in the Top-right corner.
Scroll down and choose [Static] of [DHCP]
Once you have selected [Static], a list of options will drop down.
(This is a demonstration of my setup. I have a /16 subnet, which means I can use all IPs on my network from
192.168.1.0 - 192.168.254.0
IP Address: 192.168.2.26
Gateway: 192.168.4.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0
Network prefix length: 16
(Once you choose the [Network prefix length], you will no longer see the Subnet Mask above after saved.)
(I run a Domain Controller, so I attached its IP Address to these fields. The Primary DC and the Secondary DC.)
DNS 1: 192.168.2.88
DNS 2: 192.168.2.89
Once completed, click [Save]
If you are not running a Subnet like I am and are using a more straightforward network setup, then you will do something like this.
IP Address: 192.168.1.26
Gateway: 192.168.1.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
Network prefix length: 32
(Once you choose the [Network prefix length], you will no longer see the Subnet Mask above after saved.)
(I run a Domain Controller, so I attached its IP Address to these fields. The Primary DC and the Secondary DC.)
DNS 1: 192.168.1.1 (Set to the Network Gateway)
DNS 2: 8.8.8.8 (Set to Google)
Once completed, click [Save]
